Holy Child Celebrates 75 Years!

Holy Child Celebrates 75 Years!
Grade 8 students help celebrate their school's 75th Anniversary with local community members at a Catholic school in Bryn Maw

On Saturday, November 4, over 250 members of the greater Holy Child community gathered to celebrate the 75-year Anniversary of Holy Child School at Rosemont. The evening began with Mass in the O’Neill Gymnasium; Rev. William Woody, S.J. ’03 celebrated the Mass with support from several of our alumni, former heads of school, and trustees, who served as lectors and brought up the gifts. Following the Mass, a program and reception were held in the Fitzgerald Performing Arts and Athletic Center, offering alumni, past and current parents, Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, and faculty the opportunity to reconnect and reminisce over fond Holy Child memories. Program speakers included Head of School Brian McBride; the leader of the Society’s American Province, Sr. Mary Ann Buckley, SHCJ; alumnus Matt Taylor ’78; and former Head of School Sr. Mary Broderick, SHCJ. Old yearbooks, historic photos, and school artifacts on display provided attendees with a glimpse into the rich 75-year history of our school. We are grateful for everyone who contributed their time and talent to make this a successful event, as well as the attendees who joined in this special celebration of Holy Child School at Rosemont!
