Celebrating Sister Eileen McDevitt: Honoring a Legacy of Leadership and Service

Every year, we look forward to a visit from Sister Eileen McDevitt, Director of the Holy Child Network of Schools, who visits all nine U.S.-based Holy Child schools annually. During her visits, she guides us and grounds us in our Holy Child mission, bringing our shared Goals to the forefront of our work.

This year's visit was special and bittersweet: As she looks ahead to retirement this summer, our community had the opportunity to honor Sr. Eileen's nearly 40 years of service to the Holy Child Network of Schools. On Thursday, February 20, at an all-school prayer service, we dedicated prayers and performances to her, and our students presented her with handmade cards and artwork. The most notable creations were 8 ceramic tiles that students from Grades 1–8 designed with our Goals and Cornelia Connelly's motto in mind which can be seen below. In our prayer grotto, alongside a statue of the Holy Child Jesus, we have also dedicated a bench dedicated to Sr. Eileen, connecting current and future Holy Child students to her legacy.

We admire Sr. Eileen's leadership and loyal commitment to the Holy Child mission and are grateful for her guidance as we strive to deliver a meaningful Holy Child education for all of our students.
