Two Capstone Celebrations Take Us on Journeys Around The World
In May, two of our grades hosted a unique journeys around the globe through their multidisciplinary capstone projects, showcasing what they learned throughout the year for their families and peers.
Grade 7 hosted Walk Around the World (pictured on the left) to share their capstone humanities projects with peers and parents. Following studies of various countries and cultures, each student prepared a multimedia presentation on a country of their choice, including a one-minute travel commercial and a poster summarizing key facts about the country's history and present-day events. Their Middle School peers and Buddies browsed the presentations before Grade 7 took the stage and performed songs and dances that originated from select countries they had studied.
Through multidisciplinary learning across social studies, creative writing, and music, our Grade 4 students learned about different continents, cultures, and customs (pictured on the right). The students shared what they learned with their families by singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments during an interactive performance where everyone got involved!
