Dear Holy Child Community,
By now you have heard that Tom Lengel will conclude his tenure as Holy Child School at Rosemont's Head of School at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. We are honored to be leading the effort to select our next Head of School on behalf of the Board of Trustees. As parents and trustees who care deeply about Holy Child, we are committed to ensuring its continued success.
Throughout the past several weeks, the Board has worked to appoint a committee to lead our search process. The Search Committee has the responsibility to engage a recruiting firm and identify candidates for a successor for the Head of School, who will then be presented to the full Board of Trustees. We are extremely grateful to this committee, which includes current parents, past parents, alumnae, and educators.

After assessing numerous firms, the Head of School Search Committee would like to announce the selection of Carney, Sandoe & Associates who will conduct the search for our next Head of School. Carney Sandoe brings a depth of knowledge to both the independent school and Catholic school markets. The firm has led searches for nationally recognized schools and for schools within our broader community, including The Haverford School, Malvern Preparatory School, La Salle College High School, and many others. Carney Sandoe has deep experience with handling searches for top independent Catholic schools like ourselves.
The search process will be inclusive and robust. There will be opportunities for parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and students to provide input on the priorities for our school and ideal qualities for the next Head of School. In September, Carney Sandoe will hold a series of meetings with the aforementioned constituencies. These focus group sessions will engage the Holy Child community with the purpose of gathering feedback about the future direction, and leadership of, our school. The information collected will be used to develop a Position Description, which we will share with you, and that will ultimately be used to recruit outstanding candidates.
Following the creation of the Position Description, Carney Sandoe will work to gather a well-screened candidate pool for the Head of School Search Committee. Given the nature of independent primary schools, the initial review of candidate information will be confidential as it requires a great deal of discretion. This will be a quieter time in the process when the Head of School Search Committee is vetting applicants and narrowing the field. Upon the identification of two to four finalists, the process will again become public as all relevant constituencies reengage to meet the candidates.
We will be regularly communicating updates throughout the search process and have a dedicated webpage at holychildrosemont.org/headofschool where you can access up-to-date information. Our goal is to be as open and transparent as possible. On behalf of the Search Committee, we thank you for your interest, support, and enthusiasm for this important endeavor for Holy Child. We urge you to participate as much as you can, as we hope to make this process inclusive for our entire community.
Steve Schreder & Anne Vazquez
